The Philadelphia Phillies hold a commanding nine-game lead atop the National League East, and they will have a chance to extend that advantage when they face the Atlanta Braves during Friday's MLB schedule. Atlanta has lost five of its last eight games, dropping two of its three home games against San Francisco earlier this week. Oddsmakers have installed the Braves as -140 favorites (risk $140 to win $100) in the latest MLB odds, while the Phillies are +120 underdogs. Should you back either side of that game with your MLB parlay picks on Friday night?
Other intriguing matchups on Friday include the Yankees vs. Red Sox, Padres vs. Diamondbacks and Dodgers vs. Brewers. There are 14 games starting at 6:40 p.m. ET or later on Friday night, so there is plenty of time to lock in MLB bets. Before making any MLB picks or parlays, be sure to check out the MLB predictions and betting advice from SportsLine's proven simulation model.
The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every MLB game 10,000 times. It entered Week 15 of the 2024 MLB season a profitable 44-34 on all top-rated MLB picks this season. Dating back to last season, it is on a 22-8 roll on top-rated run-line picks (+935). Anybody following has seen strong returns.
For Friday, the model has locked in three confident MLB best bets for games that begin at 6:40 p.m. ET or later. If you successfully parlay the picks, you'd be looking at a payout of almost 12-1. You can see the model's MLB picks only at SportsLine.
Top MLB picks today
After simulating every game on Friday 10,000 times, the model is picking the Astros (+134) to beat the Twins in an 8:10 p.m. ET matchup at Target Field. Twins starting pitcher Pablo Lopez allowed 14 earned runs in 13 innings across his first three starts in June, but he has allowed just one earned run in his last two outings. However, those appearances came against the Athletics and Mariners, so he has a much tougher task on his hands tonight.
Houston's offense has scored at least five runs in 11 of its last 14 games, winning 12 times during that stretch. Yordan Alvarez and Jose Altuve are both batting better than .300 for the Astros, combining to hit 32 home runs this season. They are going to be a handful for Lopez on Friday night, which is one reason why the model suggests including the Astros in your MLB parlays.See the model's top MLB picks here.
How to make Friday MLB parlays
The model also locked in two other best bets for Friday, including backing a large National League underdog. You can see the model's MLB Friday best bets and parlay only at SportsLine.
