Low Carb Bagel Bites
These mini marvels have quickly become a viral sensation andfor good reason! I’vetransformed a beloved classic bagel into a keto-friendly snack with just two main ingredients. Not only are these little bagel bites easy and fun to make, but they are also totally delicious! Whether you’re in search of a quick breakfast, a satisfying snack, or a versatile party appetizer, these bites provide a healthful solution without skimping on flavor.
Get into this snack hack; where vegan yogurt and almond flour come together to create the yummiest bite-sized treats. The preparation process is straightforward, the ingredients are incredibly easy to come by and you only need 25 minutes. These bagel bites emerge crispy on the outside and delightfully chewy on the inside, ready to be topped with anything yourheart desires. I chose to cover these with an optional everything bagel seasoning and it was a good decision because they are totally my new favorite snack.
Ingredients in Keto Bagel Bites
- Almond Flour: The foundation of our Keto Bagel Bites is superfine blanched almond flour. It provides a low-carb, grain-free and gluten-free base that is high in protein and healthy fats. This makes these bites ideal for a plant-based and ketogenic diet. The fine consistency of almond flour ensures that your bagel bites have the perfect, chewy consistency while keeping them grain-free. It’s important to use store-bought, super fine, blanched almond flour for this recipe!
- Unsweetened Dairy-Free Yogurt: This ingredient adds moisture and binds the almond flour without adding any unnecessary sugars or dairy products. Opt for a thicker, high-quality yogurt like Coco June, Culina or Harmless Harvest to give the bagel bites a rich texture and subtle tanginess. You may need to add additional flour if you choose a yogurt with a higher moisture content.
- Everything Bagel Seasoning: Optional but highly recommended for that authentic everything bagel flavor. This seasoning blend typically contains sesame seeds, dried minced garlic, dried minced onion, black sesame seeds, and sea salt, offering a savory touch that complements the subtle sweetness of the almond flour.
How to Make Keto Bagel Bites
This keto bagel recipe isso easy to make that you will have this recipe onrepeat! Start by preheating your oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to ensure nothing sticks. In a mixing bowl, combine the almond flour and dairy-free yogurt and use a fork to mix until they’re fully incorporated. Knead by hand or with a rubber spatula to achieve a firm, doughy texture that isn’t sticky, adding more flour if needed to get the consistency just right.
Next, shape the dough into small 1.5 tbsp sized balls. At this point, there should not be any residue stuck to your hands while rolling. If there is, that means your dough is too wet and you need to add a little bit more flour. Once the texture is right and they’re rolled into balls, roll each one in everything bagel seasoning for an extra burst of flavor.
Optional to spray lightly with avocado oil before baking. Place them on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-22 minutes, or until they turn golden and crispy on the exterior. Once done, let the crispy bagel bites cool completely on a wire rack to help them hold their shape and enhance their texture. I know that everyone loves a warm bagel but if you let these cool I assure you they will be worthwhile. Moving them too soon can result in them crumbling.
What is Keto?
Keto, short for the ketogenic diet, is all about flipping the traditional food pyramid upside down! It’s a high-fat, moderate-protein, and super low-carb eating plan designed to push your body into a state called ketosis. In ketosis, your body shifts from burning carbs for fuel to burning fats, making it an efficient fat-burning machine. While many people use this diet for weight loss, but that is not the only intention of this diet and it’s important to keep this in mind. This diet isn’t just about weight loss; it’s for boosting energy levels, sharpening mental clarity, and reducing cravings. Whether you’re trying to trim down, maintain a healthy lifestyle, or simply curious to experiment with new dietary habits, keto offers a fascinating approach to exploring how our bodies use different nutrients for energy! As always consult with a professional if you are considering trying a keto diet.
How to Serve These Keto Bagel Bites
Bagel Bites are incredibly versatile, making them perfect for a variety of toppings and serving styles. For a classic breakfast or brunch, top them with vegan cream cheese, or jam. My personal preference is a spread of vegan cream cheese, a slice of avocado, and pickled onions. If you’re in the mood to make them more of a lunch or dinner you could top them withvegan shredded mozzarella cheese and marinara making them like those pizza bagel bites that I’m sure many of us loved as children.
Craving something sweet? I’ve got a delicious recipe for making them with jam that you’re going to love, click here. You could also try almond butter with a drizzle of keto-friendly chocolate syrup and a pinch of sea salt.
For appetizers, you can top them with a dollop of pesto and sun-dried tomatoes or a small slice of vegan brie. The options are endless and every variation is delicious so go wild with your creative side!

Keto Bagel Bites: FAQs
- Can I use regular flour instead of almond flour? If you would like to substitute the almond flour for all-purpose flour, gluten free 1:1 flour, or oat flour, you can do that by adjusting the amount of flour to 1 cup, so it is a 1:1 ratio of yogurt to flour. I have not tried this recipe with coconut flour.
- Are these bagel bites freezer-friendly?Absolutely! Freeze them after baking and cool them completely. Reheat in the oven to restore their crispy texture.
- How do I reheat these bagel bites? You may find that after 24-48 hours, your bagel bites become a bit moist or soft. Don’t worry! Simply pop them in the oven for 5 minutes at 350 to reheat. They will crisp right up!
- Can I use dairy-based greek yogurt?Yes! Traditional dairy yogurt will work great for this recipe. Some readers have even shared they mixed in shredded cheese or parmesan.
- What other seasonings can be used?If you’re not a fan of everything bagel seasoning, or just want to switch it up, you could try poppy seeds, cinnamon sugar, sesame seeds, or granola!
- Can you make these in an air fryer?Yes! Air frying these bagel bites is a great idea, and they come out perfectly! Just reduce the bake time to 12-15 minutes.
- What is the best type of cream cheese to use? These are delicious with a dairy free cream cheese! I have found Kite Hill and Spero have the best taste and texture for dairy free vegan cream cheese options. These everything bagel bites would be delicious with plain cream cheese, garden veggie cream cheese, or red pepper cream cheese.

Preheat oven to 350 and line a large metal baking sheet with parchment paper.
Add almond flour and yogurt to a mixing bowl. Stir with a fork to combine and then use a rubber spatula or your hands to knead for a minute or two until firm, doughy, and not sticky. If your dough is too sticky, add a bit more flour or knead longer.

I needed to add more flour so I used 2 1/2 cups with one cup of yogurt and it only made 19 instead of 20 bites each bite for me equal a little under 90 cal each. I was surprised after figuring out the nutritional value they were a little bit high for my liking.
